Canada Collection

What is it exactly?

The collection belongs to the University Library since it was inaugurated by the Canadian embassador at the end of March, 2000. The collection offering a stock of more than 800 volumes comes from the donation of the Embassy of Canada in Budapest. Its main goal is to supply students studying a course called ’Canadian Literature’ with proper material background.

Where can I find it?

The collection is located on the 3rd floor, in the Hungarian and Foreign Languages and Literatures Reading Room, bearing brown labels. The notation mark of the topic is 908-CA. The majority of the books is in English but some volumes can also be found in French. The material of the collection can be used during the whole opening hours of the library.

How can I use it?

The collection is for local use in the first place, most of the books can be checked out through the overnight loan. However, many novels have more copies as well, in this case – with the exception of one copy which has to stay in the reading room – they can be borrowed at the Loan Section, the loan period of these volumes is 4 weeks. These borrowable books have signs „KA kölcsönözhető” in the inside part of the book cover.
