For the SZTE Klebelsberg Library and Archives, it is important that readers can access its services in a modern, comfortable environment. In recent months, a major IT upgrade has taken place, focusing on renewing the equipment in the learning spaces. As part of this investment, 76 new computers were installed in the computer laboratory on the first floor and in the individual and group learning spaces on the third floor.
The first floor now has 63 mini PCs with modern monitors to support study, exam preparation and research work. The third floor now has 13 energy-efficient all-in-one computers with cameras to support students with their studies and online participation in courses and conferences.
The development included more than just new computers. New whiteboards facilitate group study and teamwork. Mobile dividers were also added to enable students to work in smaller, separate groups.
All readers have access to the equipment throughout the library’s opening hours. The project was carried out by the SZTE IT Services Directorate SZTE (ISZI), who are also responsible for long-term maintenance.
Further developments are planned. The SZTE Klebelsberg Library and Archives and the SZTE ISZI are collaborating on expanding digital library services and creating the SZTE Data Repository within the RRF 2.1.2 project. Progress depends on available funding, and we will continue to report on major milestones.
